1952 Franklin Half Dollar

1952 Franklin Half Dollar

The 1952 Franklin Half Dollar was another year produced at all three Mint facilities. The year actually had the highest combined production total to date with more than 50 million coins minted. This high would eventually be surpassed in the final year of the series. Despite the high mintages, well struck gem condition coins with Full Bell Lines can be elusive.

The Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco Mint produced 1952 Franklin Half Dollars for circulation. The Philadelphia Mint once again struck a proof version of the coin for inclusion in government issued proof sets. The proof mintage showed another increase from the prior year.
